RBA is a 6th-12th grade Charter School focusing on students with challenges who need additional supports.  The school opened its doors in the fall of 2015 and has experienced significant growth. RBA seeks people with great enthusiasm, a willingness to grow and change, and who love assisting students with special needs.  

1.  7-12 Elective Teacher

​​​​All content staff are expected to plan and teach curriculum to students.  Additionally, content staff will create, monitor, differentiate, assess, modify and provide supports/accommodations for their students in an effort to individualize instruction in their particular content area.  Staff will also collaborate with their team, maintain family contact, supervise classroom or other areas as directed, and attend meetings as required.


Rochester Beacon Academy is seeking a full-time licensed social worker or school counselor. The school social worker/counselor provides services to students and families to help students increase their ability to function optimally and enhance learning. Collaborates with student support network (e.g., educational team, parents, and community agencies) to address the students' academic, emotional, and social needs. Works toward enhancing and fostering positive relations among the student, school, community, and parents. This position is required to provide supervision and support to mental health practitioners and behavior specialists, maintain records for due process, and provide services as required by the individualized education program.   License Requirements: Master's Degree, one to three years of work experience, certification as a LGSW, LISW, LICSW, or LSW, and licensed or able to obtain a license from the Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board as a School Social Worker.

3.  Special Education Paraprofessionals (Several positions)

Our content and special education staff work as a team and collaborate to provide instruction to our students in each mainstream classroom.  Our paraprofessional staff provides additional student supports, supervision and other assigned tasks.

 4.  Speech-Language Pathologist

RBA is seeking a full-time Speech Pathologist. The successful candidate will be certified in the State of Minnesota. SLPs are expected to caseload manage, fulfill due process requirements, provide accommodations and modifications for students, consult staff regarding classroom differentiation, maintain family contact, and attend meetings as scheduled.
